Women's Suffrage Exhibit is featured in the reconstructed carriage house
located behind the home on the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site. The mansion's gift shop offers a range of patriotic gifts for many
occasions, including Presidential china, ties, mouse pads, cards, bookmarks,
books, games, toys, train whistles and train books, souvenirs of the "All
Aboard! Making Tracks with the Presidential Train" exhibit.

Irving Berlin’s finest hour tells the tale of Annie Oakley, the best shot around, as she manages to support her little brother and sisters by selling the game she hunts. When she's discovered by Col. Buffalo Bill, he persuades this novel sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show. It only takes one glance for her to fall head over heels for dashing shooting ace Frank Butler, who headlines the show. She soon eclipses Butler as the main attraction which, while good for business, is bad for romance. Butler hightails it off to join a rival show, his bruised male ego leading the way, but is ultimately pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out. The rousing, sure-fire finale hits the mark every time in a testament to the power of female ingenuity. Few, if any, Broadway musicals produced the number of memorable songs as Annie Get Your Gun, including "There's No Business Like Show Business", "Doin' What Comes Natur'lly", "You Can't Get a Man with a Gun", "They Say It's Wonderful", and "Anything You Can Do."

Indiana's own Mary Anna "Marty" Wyall, currently of Fort Wayne, was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal recently in Washington, D.C. for her service as Woman Airforce Service Pilot during World War II, some 65 years ago. The medal is one of
the two highest awards given to civilians by the U.S. government.
The exhibit features several of Wyall's personal belongings as well as her Congressional Gold Medal. A short documentary is included in the exhibit, where she
shares her stories about being a WASP. This select group of young women pilots became pioneers, heroes and role models. They were a remarkable group of highly-skilled young women pilots and the first women in history trained to fly American military aircraft.

The exhibit chronicles Presidential travel by rail, including the journeys of Presidents Lincoln, Garfield, Hayes, McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt. In addition, the exhibit will include many items from the hundreds of gifts
presented to Benjamin Harrison's party when making its 1891, 10,000-mile train trip to the West Coast. The exhibit is part of admission to Harrison Home tours. The exhibit is sponsored in part by the Indianapolis Cultural Development Commission.

If you are looking for that perfect piece of art for your home or office, dont miss the 86th annual Hoosier Salon. Typically displayed "salon style," paintings selected by a panel of judges are hung in rows from floor to ceiling. As in past years, as many as 150 paintings and sculptures are chosen from 500 to 600 entries.
Hoosier Salon is the oldest exhibition in Indiana to maintain consecutive annual exhibitions with no missed years! The Salon has persevered through the Great Depression, the Midwestern flood of 1937, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and even devastation by fire. Besides being the oldest, the Hoosier Salon is also the most lucrative exhibition in the state for participating artists.

Shots in the Dark: Photos by Weegee the Famous will showcase 48 works selected from the Museums recent major acquisition of 210 photographs by Arthur Fellig, the father of New York street photography better known as Weegee the Famous. Shots in the Dark is the first exhibition at the IMA featuring works by the photographer since the Museum acquired this extraordinary collection of photographs in 2008. The exhibition will explore a range of works that defined Weegees career, including photos of crime scenes in the 1930s, Harlem jazz clubs in the 40s, audiences at Sinatra concerts or in darkened movie theaters taken surreptitiously with infrared film, strippers, transvestites, Greenwich Village coffee houses in the 50s and portraits of the famous, shot through distorting lenses of his own devising.

If ever there was a classic tale to be told, it is that of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Be there when Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre rolls out the Round Table this fall to present the classic musical Camelot September 7 through October 10.
This one has it all -- love and loss, beauty and betrayal, fighting and forgiveness. Be swept away to a magical time and place that was known as Camelot. The show stars Douglas E. Stark as King Arthur (see "In The Spotlight" below), Krista Severeid as Guenevere, and Tony Lawson as Lancelot.

Phil O'Malley: Looking Forward. Meet the artist and join us for refreshments on September 15, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Art is Phil O’Malley’s response to his human experiences. While some paintings have aggressive players where shapes and colors jockey for the front position, others are more reserved—they stand quietly instead of dancing on the walls. Phil may not always know where he’s heading while creating his art, but he always knows how to get there. O’Malley graduated with a BFA in Fine Arts from Herron School of Art and Design. He is creator and art director “Somethin’ to Crow About,” a children’s book in collaboration with Lois Main Templeton.
